Can anyone give me examples of Syntax From the book Their Eyes Were Watching God, by Zora Neale Hurston?

I dont really understand what syntax means so if you could give me direct quotes or a part that you remembered that had syntax so i can look it up in the book. Also any real good quotes showing diction and also tone. Please help because im really bad in this english thing( i have a really hard time identifying rehtorical terms).
