I got ill some years ago when my kids had chickenpox, I am not sure if I got shingles...?

I think I got shingles, I was left with a line of bumps (like boils) on my back which are still there. The weird thing is I have not had a cold sore since.Was it a bad reaction to the chicken pox? I was unconscious for 2 days and felt peculiar for months after. Has anybody else had this?
